I would like to turn off the toolbar content separator. If I had
a metal window I could clear the
kWindowMetalNoContentSeparatorAttribute attribute but I don't.
How can I turn off the toolbar content separator in a normal window?
You can't.
I guess I am looking for a workaround then.
Interarchy's windows have a toolbar, followed by a bookmarks bar,
followed by a tab control. The layout is similar to Safari.
However, unlike Safari the Interarchy's windows are not metal.
Instead they have the unified look. That is the toolbar background
blends into the bookmarks bar background which in turn blends into
the tab control background.
The separator between the toolbar and the content of the window
disrupts the flow of the unified look. Frankly it looks like crap;
especially if the bookmarks bar is hidden so that the toolbar flows
into the tab control. I want to get rid of it.
kWindowMetalNoContentSeparatorAttribute almost does what I want.
However it only works with metal windows. A
kWindowNoContentSeparatorAttribute attributes would be ideal. Alas
it does not exist.
Who draws the separator between the toolbar and the content? The
toolbar? The window? Something else? Is it possible to override
the drawing of the separator or obscure it somehow?
