I'm trying to launch Applescript and Javascript files as part of a
logging
application
I don't need to know the result of the script except that it
successfully
launched, and they can run synchronously or asynchronously
For AppleScript you can try NSAppleScript, but I don't know if there
are any issues using it in a Carbon Application. You should also be
able to find documentation and samples on the developer website
<http://developer.apple.com>.
I don't know about Java Script however, never used it myself.
