Re: How to get OS version, (Mac OS 10.4.10)?



I am pretty sure that particular piece of info is wrong—that technique is viable but it's not particularly good. I've filed a bug on it and it came back dupe. 
As others have posted, Gestalt has selectors to let you get the system version back in multiple pieces, and those selectors work in this case.

According to Gestalt.h, "a better way" is to read the system version from /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist.
