Data browser list view column widths

Hi,

I'm using a data browser in list view, with a single column. I'll just call it a list for brevity. The behaviour I would like to happen is that when a new row is added to the list, and the contents are wider than than can be displayed at current list width, the column is resized sufficiently wide to contain the widest row content and the horizontal scroll bar is active so the user can scroll to see all the message.

This is actually for an errors and warnings type window similar to Xcode's Build Results window. Of course with that you can't actually scroll horizontally to read all the text on a line, which is kind of a pain.

I don't see anything in the data browser API that is going to allow this to be done automatically for me, and I don't really see anything which is going to help me achieve it. I have a feeling that I'm going to have set the column widths myself based on measurements of text and icons etc. in row content that I derive myself.

Before I jump in and do this, I thought I would just ask if anyone knows a more straightforward way to do this, maybe something in the API I am missing or just any other suggestions.

Regards,

Jo Meder
