You make a good point, however, it has been recently reported as happening
in our application on Intel Macs now too. Mac OS X 10.4.10 and Mac OS X
10.9. I also saw it on Mac OS 10.5.0 on the PowerPC.

If I cannot solve it, I will eventually move on: we'll have to stick with an
all or nothing approach regarding cursors (no mixing of upper and lower
class :) ).
