The solution is still the same: Don't use the BOM

They should support the presence of a BOM. It wouldn't take much at all to do so (it's just three bytes at the beginning of the file) and by doing so they would eliminate potential problems for developers. It may not technically be a bug since they don't claim to support a BOM, but at best it's a poor design decision to not support something this common if it can free their users from having to worry about it or adjust how they work.
