That is, can IB convert a Carbon nib to a Cocoa nib?

That sounds like a fantastic feature request! If Apple expects Carbon developers to switch it makes sense that we aid in that transition as much as possible. I know we in the HIToolbox group have made that our goal for the last two years. I'm sure the IB team would love to hear your feedback. Anywhere else Apple can better help you through this transition? Let us know.

"fantastic request"... Hmm... Sure, that'll keep someone's job at Apple secure for quite some while, and sure it's better than nothing for us... But, I'm rather sad to hear this from you. The whole idea of taking the recently developed, advanced and modern view system and suddenly thru it down the toilet just doesn't make any bit of sense to me.

This is the transition Apple has decided to promote. The "fantastic request" is for anything we can do for you to aid in that transition should you decide to make it. Our job is to make it as easy as possible for clients to follow the path that Apple has set.
