I'm using 10.4.10.
It seems this IS the bug you're referring to. In List view this does not
happen.
Anyway, if apple engineers are interested, there is a real easy way to
reproduce this.
Simply add a sleep of half a second in the track drag callback, and when
dragging make sure you continue to move the mouse after you release the
button.
