Data browser response to keyboard

How do I get my application code to respond correctly to a key press within a Dat Browser?
Specifically, I want to respond to the user extending a dat browser list selection with the arrow keys.
I have a feeling that I need to post an event handler of a specific type, but I can't find the details in the Apple docs at moment.
