The Leopard Finder selects only the name of a file (and not its
extension) when you hit Return to rename the file. Is it possible
to implement that behavior for an editable Data Browser column, i.e.
to have only part of the text selected when the user initiates
editing?
Unfortunately, I'm told that it is not. Finder uses private knowledge
of the DataBrowser to do this.
