If, on one of the rare cases that you get a proximity event embedded in a Mouse Down event, then you can not get the pressure. This is somewhat of a pain I know. That is why we try hard not to embed Proximity Events in Mouse Down Events. On the rare case that it does happen, a drag event should not be far behind that has pressure associated with it. After the initial Mouse Down, pure tablet events are sent until the cursor moves one pixel. After that, all pressure changes are sent embedded in Mouse Drags even if the cursor does not moe a full pixel (or at all)._______________________________________________

The thing I don't understand is that I expect to be able to extract a_______________________________________________

(CarbonEvents.h) that I will only get either a proximity or a point
event - not both?
At the point I receive the Mouse Down, how can I extract the pressure if
kEventParamTabletEventType is kEventTabletProximity?
