Re: just curious

I've asked this before, but I don't remember getting a straight
answer. Did Apple correct their most idiotic (IMHO) oversight with OS
X, X.1, X.2...

the incredibly hard-to-implement listing of files by most recent date
in Open Dialog boxes?

Yes, that and other changes make the Panther Nav Services dialogs the best
yet IMO.

However, in all fairness, I don't the lack of this previously was the result
of an "idiotic oversight" as much as the fact that Mac OS X was released in
a far less mature state than more people realize, and they've been filling
the gaps ever since.

Ok, but I still can't believe it took until 10.3--which is not out yet-- to get it fixed. When I have people come in to work with me, and they have never seen OSX, they go to open their file -- which is ALWAYS some incomprehensible filename which they only locate by date. When they can't list by the most recently saved, that is always what they say "God, that is so STUPID. I hate OS X. It sucks!". It's little things like that, just common sense knowledge about typical user experience, that I would expect better of from Apple. I would prefer that the person who got the little icons to bounce in the dock been assigned to list files by their most recent date.

just a little rant, useless now that it actually has been fixed thank god. What is it, $129? That's the feature I will be paying for.
