Opening Stationary Pads from the Finder?

Hi,

When I double-click a stationary pad document in the 10.2.6 Finder, the
Finder creates a copy of the document and then asks my application to open
that copy.

How do I get the Finder to not make the copy and pass the stationary pad to
my App so that I can create a new untitled document based on the contents of
the stationary pad. In Pre-X days, this was possible, but I cannot see a
way to accomplish this on X?
