Thanks for the info. Here's what I get with ls -alo:

ls -alo /Library/Perl/Net/FTP.pm
-r--r--r-- 1 root admin - 40967 Sep 23 2002 /Library/Perl/Net/FTP.pm

So, it would appear that I still only have read access to the file. Why is
kioACUserNoMakeChangesMask not being set when I use FSGetCatalogInfo on this
particular file?
