Re[2]: Has 'Authorization' changed in MacOSX 10.3?

Can someone give me a leg-up on what I should be expecting from 10.3 and 'Authorization'? What, if anything, should I be doing differently?

I don't know what changed (not knowing much about authorization), but I think you should definitely file a bug immediately and include a copy of your installer. If it worked on earlier systems, it should probably continue to work on 10.3, unless you just happened to accidentally be depending on some unsupported side effect.

Hi Eric,

As the XCode development environment was completely new to me, it took a little while to be able to get to the point where I could figure out what was going on with my software.

The problem, which at first I thought involved Authorization, actually was the result of a change in the DiskArbitration framework where they no longer support the functions DiskArbDeRegister_auto and DiskArbRefresh. The dyld complaint was for undefined references. When I references to those labels out of my code and linked with the DiskArbitration.framework located in the 10.3 system folder, the code started working and the Authorization-related activites executed without a problem.

Please accept my apologies about the miscued reference to a possible problem with Authorization. At least my posting was in the form of a question and not a specific indictment.

Thanks,

Lance Drake
