I use a Podium CoolPad *all the time* and my machine is cool, and so am I.

Another nice gadget is the ByteCC two-fan aluminum laptop stand. I keep two around.

For easy-chair use, the laptop sits on the ByteCC stand, sits on a plywood lap board, sits on a soft pillow, sits on my lap... distributes the weight quite nicely, keeps the laptop cool, and puts the keyboard at a nice ergonomic angle.

I wired a USB power adapter kludge, to run the fans off a radio shack 5 volt wallwart transformer for wall-power usage. Powering the fans off laptop USB just makes the laptop voltage regulators run hotter, makes the fans' job more difficult.
