This crash does not happen EVERY time an app is launched - so I am curious
what, if anything, anyone might have to contribute as to why this is a
problem (sometimes).
For sure:
* The 'LaunchApplication' call is made correctly to an existing app
* This was not a problem until I incorporated the CFNotificationCenter
into the picture
* The code is a faceless/windowless, root-permissioned process linked
with Carbon.framework

There's precious little info available about the care and feeding of
CFNotifications but I do believe I am setting things up correctly and
wonder why this 'szone_malloc' problem keeps kicking in.
