Getting the Application Menu

Hi,

I am trying to add an 'about' menu item to my application.
The application does not create menu items starting from resources, but
creates them all dynamically.

Using this setup, the OS does not add an 'about' menu item, but it does add
a preferences and a quit menu item (and others) to the application menu.

How should I proceed in adding the about menu item ? I tried using
GetMenuHandle(128) hoping this would return the menu handle, but in my case,
that also returns NULL. Perhaps I am still calling this too early ?

Any advise ?
