Thanks Eric, that's a great answer.

So, is it true then that I as an independent developer could reimplement
most if not all of the Aqua Controls using the existing Appearance API?
Bevel buttons, push buttons, round buttons, check boxes, radio buttons,
scroll bars, etc?

Of course the proof would be that Apple uses nothing but the Appearance
API to build controls.
