Not true. This is just the only resource file you've opened manually. At
least two resource files are open and in your resource chain by the time
your code starts to execute.

It doesn't give you any file at all. It gives you the Preferences folder.

Yes. Mac OS 9 knows nothing about the Mac OS X directory structures, user
folders, et al.

"of my *actual* OS9 executable file" - of your application (keep it simple).

If you pass the resRefNum of a resource file, then yes, CurResFile will put
it at the top of the resource chain.

It's not clear what you mean by "it would use." Is it the Resource Manager
or CurResFile()?
