I finally had a chance to look into this more, however, I'm having a difficult time obtaining additional information about these calls. I searched Apple Developer Connection for AXUIElementCreateApplication, and I found only one reference to it, as a preliminary draft:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/ReleaseNotes/Accessibility/ AssistiveAPI.html

Unfortunately, I think that's it for now.

The draft says "Look in the HIServices/Accessibility.h and associated files for the complete and most current set of declarations" but I cannot find Accessibility.h anywhere. Does this file even exist? If so, where?

It's at /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/ HIServices.framework/Headers/Accessibility.h. The declarations haven't changed since the documentation was written, as far as I know.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I found the file from your path. This isn't really related, but when I do a complete volume file search for "Accessibility.h" it doesn't turn up in the search results (using OS 10.3.1). Any reason? That's why I didn't think I had the file. Or am I just unfamiliar with the OS X Find command?

Thanks,
Bill
