Forcing a Crash log?

I'm working on an iMovie plugin which is now in beta. One of my testers is
reporting an "App unexpectedly quit" failure. I would like to debug the
problem so I asked him to send me the crash log.

Guess what: It doesn't exist.

So, I wrote a small plugin that is gauranteed to crash iMovie and tried it
myself. Yup. You guessed it. No crash log.

iMovie used to generate crash logs. But apparently with the conversion to
Cocoa (iMovie 3.0.1 and beyond), this feature disappeared.

Is there some way I can change that? Perhaps some magic incantation that I
can type into the Terminal window - ANYTHING!

Help!

Gary
