Is it possible, in any way, shape, or form, to transmit an audio transmission *OUT*, from the modem that ships inside the PowerBook?
My orange iBook is being used as my answering machine (running HotFax Message Center under OS 9) so it is at least possible on some laptops.
Recording the audio is pretty simple. It's dumping it out to the inbound connection that is the problem. Does this HFMC software actually play audio over the line?

There are some other issues (apparently this software will let you use your computer/modem as a speaker phone, but that specifically doesn't work with the built in modem), but it does, more or less, work.

I once tried to look up the various AT commands to enable both the recording and playback of voice data...
This is possible? I suppose those voice/data/fax modems have to work somehow.
