It's difficult prior to Mac OS X 10.3, because PopUpMenuSelect almost always calls CalcMenuSize before displaying the menu, which overwrites the width that you've set on the menu. I think (although I haven't tried it recently) that on 10.3 and later, the width that you set should be used by PopUpMenuSelect.
