For the record, the Japanese text is entered by typing, but unlike western languages that are entered letter by letter, Japanese is entered in "bunches" (in words?) where you type some kana letters and have the option to press space to convert it to kanji and only then when you press return all of that is "really" entered. And only then when you press return the kEventTextInputUnicodeForKeyEvent handler is called. And that with data size for the unicode text of 2 even when longer text is entered.

I decided to keep it like this for now (i. e. broken in Japanese).
