Re: Prevent iTunes Lib Sharing

A shell script could modify the firewall rules to block both incoming and outgoing traffic. Look at the man page for ipfw for more details as well as the default rules when the firewall is active for examples. You can then have this script execute at the end of the startup process by using a StartupItem in /Library/StartupItems.

Hi,

I would like to prevent users from sharing their iTunes Library on the network.

One option is OSX's firewall but I'd rather not
(firewall only block incoming traffic);
another option is to have a script modifying iTunes Prefs
every once in a while, but it doesn't seems reliable enough;

Is there a way to remove the pref pane of sharing in iTunes Prefs...
or anything else ?...

thanks
