Hello, all. I'm having a problem that I hope you can
help with. I apologize to those on other lists that
have seen this request, but I'm still experiencing
problems and needing help.
I've been using an external DVD writer for about a
year and a half on my 450mhz G4 running OS 10.2.8. A
few weeks ago, my DVD burning software stopped
recognizing the drive as a burner. I can read discs
just fine, but not burn them.
Using different software doesn't seem to resolve the
issue. I've used 5 different ones now.
Whether it's connected via FIrewire or USB doesn't
matter, and neither does the drive or cable. I've
tried 2 other drives on my computer with no luck, both
USB and FIrewire connections, and all 3 drives appear
to work just fine on my Windows XP box.
It's not the media, because the drive isn't seen by
the software. I've also tried deleting the burning
software's plist file with no luck.
This may be from an OS update, but I'm not sure which
one or how to go about troubleshooting that if it is.
I hate to think about reinstalling the OS because of
this. Any help greatly appreciated!
