Well, I'm just the in-house (read "stopgap") computer person, so I wasn't
the one to fix it. 

I do know that Retrospect was NOT originally installed as root, and it's
been several months since the problem has occurred.  It did happen twice to
the same person, but I don't know whether it was installed as root the
second time around.

I noticed someone mentioning that it only happened with Jaguar, and now that
I think about it, that's been the case for us as well - which is probably
why it hasn't happened recently.
