Thanks to all who have responded - it has been very helpful.
Yet, I have tried all the recommendations with no success. Several had
responded that separating the DHCP and the LDAP access would be the key, and
that initially showed some success. But, when I made the changes on those
two laptops, back to the same problem.
Is it something particular to those two laptops? Does powering down
completely erase the DHCP lease, a battery going bad, etc.?
