Our district would like to implement AD Integration and I'm in interested in
other educational settings that have already done so and how things are
working for you, particularly if you have a similar scenario to ours.
Our setup would be Windows 2000 or 2003 document servers, replicating AD.
We'd stage an OSX server (already purchased) for client-management of the
macs (about 200 per site) as well as to host building images for netinstall
purposes on initial setup of the workstations.
Our AD admin is expressing concern about this project and the macs "dinging"
the AD for user authentication. I don't know enough about AD to know how to
answer intelligently.
I'm interested in successful and even unsuccessful roll outs of this
arrangement. I guess I'd like to know it "can be done" in the real world
and who is doing it where. If you have tried and failed, can you share what
the point of failure was and where you found employment afterwards ;-)
