I have been working on an  AD login and have been sidetracked by the fact that one of the Windows servers with the students home directories will not mount. I am told that the settings are identical to the Windows server that does mount .

Has anyone had this experience ? The Microsoft UAM Volume will mount but the Users volume doesn't even show up.

The AD plugin will mount the homes in two different places, either on the Desktop or as the home. It can mount via AFP or SMB, unless you are using EZIP on the Windows Server you should mount via SMB. SFM is not an acceptable service for home folders.

What OS are you running? On 10.3 the AD plugin won't mount the home if you are using a server cluster without pointing the user's home to the individual cluster node. Tiger will mount it, but has some real performance issues in doing so.
