New eMacs running Panther?

Can the new eMacs announced a few months ago still run Panther? I remember reading that you could shoehorn Panther on the new iMacs without fan control, but I don't think the latest eMac rev is all that different... I have a lab of all Panther machines and an image already created for them. I'd rather not create a new tiger image for them both for time constraints and uniformity. Has anybody tried running Panther on the new eMacs?
