Re: Active Directory Connection

The AD plug-in typically uses Kerberos to authenticate. Can you run / System/Library/CoreServices/Kerberos.app and see if you still have a ticket the next morning? It could be a problem that the ticket is expiring and not being renewed properly?

Cheers

If I leave my computer logged into AD overnight, when I come back the next
morning it acts like I'm a normal user instead of an administrator.
Essentially, it has me authenticating any administrative task I do,
including logging into any network shares that I should have access to. If
I log out and right back in, everything is fine.

Our servers go through a nightly incremental backup, so that may be why I'm
getting dropped.

Hi,

I'm using the Active Directory plug-in on Panther to join my lab machines
to our campus active directory server. Everything works fine for the most
part, but I sometimes have machines lose their connection and once had
some lose their connection consistently 2-3 times a day.

I was wondering how many other people have experienced these lost
connections and if there is anything one can do to prevent or cut down on
the amount of times it happens? I haven't been able to find a definite
answer and suspect there may not be one.

I'm also having to figure out why my AD administrative account seems to go
on the fritz once or twice a year which prevents me from binding/ unbinding
machines.

Any information is most definitely appreciated.

Thanks,
