I'm working with a 10.4 Xserve trying to set up user accounts in
Workgroup
Manager. I am able to create new users with a Crypt Password without a
problem, but as soon as I try to change it to an Open Directory
password I
get an eDSAuthFailed error (-14090). I've googled this quite a bit,
but the
only reference I've been able to find to the error is for a 10.2
server.
The complete error message is as follows:

Does anyone have any suggestions?
It sounds to me like your admin user isn't a Password Server admin.
You can use "NeST -verifypasswordserveradmin <server IP> <admin name>
<admin password>" to check whether a user is a PWS admin.
