dealing with the safari cache

Wondering what everyone is doing with the Safari cache issue and WGM? I am considering changing the permissions on the Safari cache directory to prevent the owner from writing to it and thereby disabling the creation of all this cache files. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
