I'd recommend both ways. First by FQDN simply because that's how we do it here. Then try via IP address. The reason for FQDN is that someday your DC will be upgraded and it's IP address may change. Of course if DNS is the issue that's something else entirely...
Okay, tried this with the name of one of our four DCs (after trying IP addresses on two of them). No change.

Tried this too. Still no joy. I'm starting to wonder if there IS something IHave you tried via a wired connection?
have to configure on the Windows 2003 servers for Tiger that I didn't have
to do for the Panther clients.
