I have two G5s running OSX 10.4.3, both set up to use an LDAP
server for Directory Services. On boot, both work properly, even
using GSSAPI to bind to the server to authenticate users and getting
a Kerberos ticket, which is useful. However, one of them hangs after
about 10 minutes of operation.
I've switched it back to NIS and the problem doesn't surface, it's
only when LDAP is used that there's a problem. Syslog is set to
log everything, and I've enabled API and Debug logging for the
DirectoryService Daemon, but nothing seems to jump out. The only
messages I see are these:
Nov 23 14:20:06 cises-power-mac-g5
/System/Library/CoreServices/mcxd.app/Contents/MacOS/mcxd:
DSGetCurrentConfigInfo(): dsGetRecordEntry() == -14061
Nov 23 14:20:06 cises-power-mac-g5
/System/Library/CoreServices/mcxd.app/Contents/MacOS/mcxd: DSGetCacheInfo():
DSGetCurrentConfigInfo() == -14061
Nov 23 14:20:06 cises-power-mac-g5
/System/Library/CoreServices/mcxd.app/Contents/MacOS/mcxd:
*** MCXD.getComputerInfo: Couldn't get cache info -14061
But they appear on both hosts.
I'm using OpenLDAP 2.3.12 for the LDAP server. Any help would be appreciated.
Jim
