Re: Applecare or Self-Repair

Our district is reviewing our policy of purchasing Applecare on all

$88,000.

Does your use of the iBooks allow substitution if one goes wrong ? In other words, if someone brought one into you that wasn't working, could you just swap it for a spare ? Because you could buy 20 spare iBooks for $20,000 and spend the other $68,000 on repairs as and when needed. That gives you the usual 2% spare capacity for broken computers.

The balance on this comes down to how likely each of your 1,000 iBooks
is to go wrong and how much it costs to have them repaired outside the
AppleCare agreements.
