Print to color with admin p/w

I've recently set up a color printer and in WGM have added the need for an admin password before students can print to it. Teachers have been set up as group administrators and their passwords work fine on the 10.3 machines but for the 10.4 eMacs I recently got I actually have to put in the sever 'root' administrator for it to work. This isn't a password I want every teacher to know. The server is 10.3. Is there a way to get the 10.4 machines to work the same as the 10.3?
