We went to panther server this year and I am attempting to manage clients. Raises many questions. The literature available is in the" how to" vein and I need to find some rationale for doing one way as opposed to another. To wit -Network folders as opposed to local homes? what to do with the local homes left over from appsleshare IP 6. whatever? WGM sees no classic apps and we are running many (way too many) classic apps. Can I manage those from mac manager in a seamless fashion? I was unable to connect as a user in the LDAP directory and assumed that dns was not functioning correctly. I logged on from a different machine however and was transported into the world of client management. Problem is I can't reproduce that experience on a box to clone for the lab. Directory Assistant settings are the same but just get the jiggle when attempting login. I apologize in advance for the shotgun nature of this message. Server is set up according to directions from John Ds website (many thanks).
