We have set up Tiger server and clients at one of our schools. Here
are the issues we are having, and I'm not sure if they are image
related, network related or Tiger related.
- Logins will occasionally not complete. They stay stuck on the first
(blue background) screen that appears and go no further.
- Logouts will occasionally get stuck as well . Computers must be
power buttoned down in these 2 scenarios.
-The 'My Applciations' folder is empty the first time a student logs
in. Second login often solves the problem for good. But for some
students they have to login 2x, every time they are at the computer.
And a few can never get any apps to show in the folder (there are many
Classic apps in their folders)
- Blue Apple logout of user is sometimes delayed 5-10 seconds. Same
with logging out with keyboard shortcut - 5-10 seconds until the 'are
your sure you want to logout' window appears.
- Computers freezing
- printing in Classic requires repeated setting of printer in Chooser
for some users
- Login is done by a list of names (357 names) and at times only a
partial list shows up - requiring a restart or a login/out using one of
the names that does show on the list.
