I'm retreading here, but I haven't had time to play with this again until
now. And with a new security update out late last week, I really want to get
this working.
Both labs of clients have http://(my ip address):8088/ set. Here's the
results for "defaults":
$defaults read com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
{
WebIconDatabaseDirectoryDefaultsKey = "~/Library/Icons";
WebKitDefaultFontSize = 11;
}
$sudo defaults write com.apple.SoftwareUpdate "http://(my IP address):8088/"
2005-09-26 14:47:50.240 defaults[393]
Rep argument is not a dictionary
Defaults have not been changed.
I'm thinking I'm missing an argument somewhere for writing a new default
server location? Due to other problems I'm having (namely with DreamWeaver
and its activation hassles) I'm really close to reimaging one of the labs
anyway, but I'd still like to have this working.
Thanks for all your help.
