New school using VOIP on the network

We've just been given our new school. Opening a new school in the middle of the year is really an experience I hope to avoid for the rest of my life, but we are getting by. It is such an improvement from our old place we are smiling from ear to ear. One of the new things is a VOIP system for the phones connected to our network.

It has caused a few surprises. We were told initially it would be a plug and play and we would be using our X Serve there. Well we had to change all the IP's because the internet phones required it. Well changing the IP on the server is not a recommended thing to do. What I am looking for is advise on what I should be looking for as surprises in the future. I've already found that AppleTalk is pitching fits. First you can see the servers and the printers and then they disappear. On the OS 9 machines we redo the Appletalk Preferences and we are hoping it holds. Printing has been a nightmare today.

Any comments on what my future may be like?

Thanks.

Dennis
