I'm experiencing a problem with copying files from the Finder in OS
10.4.3 to drop box-type folders on a Windows 2003 server. When you
try to copy, you get an error: "The operation cannot be completed
because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the
items." After you click OK, you discover that the file is actually
created on the destination, but it's 0 bytes. If you copy using
'cp' in Terminal, or copy from a Windows XP Pro client, everything
works as expected.
The permissions on the folder give the user all 4 "write"
capabilities that the advanced permissions configuration offers,
but nothing else.
Some additional permissions info about the destination folder: using
Windows' effective permissions inspector for this user, I discovered
that it has all permissions except:
Full Control (obviously)
both Delete permissions
Change Permissions
Take Ownership
Thanks for your help!
