Simultaneous Logins allowed on Tiger clients

I previously posted a question to the server list about Tiger clients allowing users to log in to multiple workstations even when "Allow Simultaneous Logins" is unchecked in Workgroup Manager. Several listers responded with "me too", but no solutions were offered.

Through some experimenting I determined that it is not a server issue. It is a Tiger client only issue. I used four clients (two Panther, two Tiger) and a Panther Server. Login on panther1, then login to panther2 and get the already connected message. Login on tiger1, login succeeds with no warning, same with tiger2. Log out of all. Login on tiger1, login to panther 1 no message, login to panther2 not allowed to login, login to tiger2, succeeds, no message.

No matter what order I login, I cannot login to two panther clients at the same time as the same user. But I can login to both Tiger clients and a panther client simultaneously.

So does anyone know how or why the Tiger clients are not setting the logged in flag? BTW, the Tiger clients were at 10.4.2 and 10.4.3, then both upgraded to 10.4.4. Problem persists after 10.4.4. I have the same issues with another school with a Tiger Server.

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

Rick Davis
