Or are they experiencing a login hang and simply restarting the machines and so leaving them still 'logged' in?
I still have an on-going (since last September!) issue with random but frequent login hangs. I can recreate it in 2 ways. Firstly if I do not put SAFlashplayer as an App on a client- it is an approved app that we need, then this produces a login hang on all our managed student accounts!? (Even on my lab machines - please see later..)
Today while testing deleting mcx cache (thxs to Dan Ball) I can now get G3 (test student for grade 3) to login fine . The same goes for G4 and G5. But when I try G6, I get a login hang. When I disconnect this user and go back to the login screen and try G3 again.. bingo re-login hang? (Until I clear the mcx cache again.) Is it an app that grade 6 users have and why would this affect the grade 3 kids? I wish I knew?
Is there anyway to analyz(s)e why the login hang occurs?
Strangely this happens not on the 2 labs created from the same 2 disk images but on clients that were set up from their install disks and updated with software update. And I don't really want to use the same disk images as the labs as these other clients need less software on them for licence purposes. Also they wouldn't necessarily work as they are different models.
Server 10.4.3, clients (with this problem) 10.3.9
Any suggestions/advice would be most appreciated before I lose it completely.
