Greetings,
I have a client that is moving from a windows server to a Mac server. They
are going to be providing Web and Mail services out of the new mac server.
Those services are currently run on the windows machine. In discussing the
process of switching them over, we discovered that possibly waiting on the
mail server would be the best way to go. Now to my question:
My Client wants to be able to tell with what mail server is running and what
webserver is currently running. Similar to a DNS lookup to tell who hosts
your DNS Info. He just wants to type in his Web Address and have it tell him
what server he is on the windows machine or the Mac. My solution was to
simply turn off web on the windows box, but he wants to leave it on "Just in
case." I know it is kind of asinine but the customer is always right,
right?
I know there has to be a ways to type in a domain name and have it tell you
what server they are running on, same with Mail, just need a little help.
