I have had several eMacs start freezing up on a regular basis. I
have gone through extensive trouble shooting including zeroing the
hard drive and fresh install, reset PRAM, new RAM and Apple hardware
test shows no problems. I took one of the machines in and the tech
verified it was a bad logic board. He said he has seen several
machines from the same time frame with bad hardware.
I have at least 4 more that I have confirmed and several more I
haven't fully tested yet. Apple won't do anything at this point
because they are out of warranty. The eMacs in question were
purchased in August of 2004. Has anyone else had trouble with eMacs
purchased at this time?
If so please let apple know. They said if they had more complaints
they might be able to issue a recall of some kind.
