There is a section in there that goes into the Directory Based Authentication.

As soon as I get my 9 copies in, I am going ot be trying this out :)

you could actually remove the local account all together and use ARD configured to allow authentication from OD groups. You just need to create the appropriate OD groups and add the users (OD or AD users) into that group...they can then authenticate clients.

I have created a local account just for ARD usage.

Is it possible to make sure that that the account cannot be used to  
login from the console?
