Color Laser printer for elementary school?

Hi everyone,
We have a slowing dying HP Color Laserjet 4550n that we are looking to
replace.  Is anyone happy with their color laser?  Currently consumables are
killing my budget.  Is that just the nature of the color laser beast?  Any
models/brand I should avoid?
